The
Richmond Royals U11 B1 have officially punched their ticket to the post-season, finishing a stellar regular season in 2nd place overall out of 13 teams. With a final record of 14 wins, 4 losses, and 2 ties, the Royals amassed 30 points over 20 games, securing their spot as one of the top contenders in the league.
The journey wasn't without its hurdles. While the team showed promise early on, many point to the team tournament in Lefroy as the true turning point of the year. Facing stiff competition, the Royals galvanized as a unit, proving they could compete with the best and setting the tone for a relentless second half. That momentum carried them through a high-pressure final stretch where every point mattered; the team didn't officially lock up the second-place seed until the last game of the season.
Head Coach Brett Kelly has instilled a clear identity in this group: "The hardest working team wins." That mantra will be put to the test as the Royals enter a high-stakes four-team round-robin playoff. The road to the championship begins with a clash against Carleton Place, followed by a battle with Stittsville, and finally a "Battle of Richmond" against their peers, the Richmond Royals U11 B2. The winner goes on to the championship round.
This successful season wouldn't be possible without the generous support of our community partners. A huge thank you to 613 Bins, Triangle Pump Service, and Bleeks & Bergamot for their dedication to local youth hockey.
